BAFTA award-winning Alistair McGowan starred as Henry Higgins in this major revival of Shaw’s enduring masterpiece. The play, directed by Tony award-winning David Grindley, also starred Rula Lenska as Mrs Higgins, Jamie Foreman as Alfred Doolittle, Paul Brightwell as Colonel Pickering and introduced Rachel Barry as Eliza Doolittle.

Pygmalion is one of theatre’s most entertaining and beguiling explorations of gender and class and is perhaps best known as the inspiration for the musical My Fair Lady.

The aristocratic and pompous Professor Henry Higgins makes a bet with his friend Colonel Pickering that he can transform the manners and speech of Cockney flower girl Eliza Doolittle.

Packed with a host of larger than life characters Pygmalion remains one of Shaw’s most popular plays and a classic British drama; full of his trademark wit, style and humour.

Presented by MJE PRODUCTIONS, MARK GOUCHER LTD and THEATRE ROYAL BATH in 2014.
